"The Heart Beneath Her Paw"

They say there was once a young child who wandered too far from the firelight.
The forest swallowed her steps, and the cold crept in. But just as fear began to bloom in her chest, a warmth stirred in the darkness.

It was the Bear.
She didn’t speak in words. She spoke in breath—deep and steady. In the hush of snow beneath her feet. In the ancient symbols woven into her fur like maps of memory.

The Bear did not ask where the child had been. She simply offered her presence, vast and quiet like the night sky.
With each step the Bear took, the Earth softened.
And so the child followed.

Wrapped in the curve of the Bear’s side, the child found not just warmth, but stories. Stories of mothers who held on through storms. Of strength that was gentle. Of pain that had been met and survived.
The Bear did not promise that sorrow would never come again.

But she promised this:
“When it does, I will walk with you. You are never alone in the dark.”
And that night, under a sky full of breathing stars, the child learned something sacred:
That healing does not always roar. Sometimes, it simply holds you until you remember how to breathe again.
