The Thunderbird is watching, protecting us still

Long ago, the skies were silent. The winds whispered, and the rain fell gently. But deep within the mountains lived a powerful spirit—the Thunderbird, guardian of balance and protector of the natural world.

The Thunderbird was no ordinary creature. Its wings were wide enough to block out the sun, and each flap sent thunder rolling across the land. Lightning danced from its eyes and talons. When it flew, the clouds obeyed, and the storms answered its call.

One season, the land fell into chaos. A fiery serpent from beneath the earth rose up, bringing drought, earthquakes, and flames. Crops died, rivers dried, and people cried out for salvation.

The Thunderbird heard them.

It soared high above the mountains, crackling with lightning. With a shriek that split the sky, it dove into battle against the serpent. For days, thunder roared and rain poured. The serpent coiled and struck, but the Thunderbird would not yield.
Finally, with one final bolt of lightning, the Thunderbird drove the serpent back into the earth and sealed it beneath a mountain of stone.

Since then, whenever thunder rumbles or lightning flashes, the people say:
"The Thunderbird is watching, protecting us still."
