They call her Tsi-tsi-kwa — “The One Who Drinks from Light,”

Long ago, when the world was heavy with sorrow, the Great Spirit sent a small being to remind us of joy. Hummingbird came not with thunder or fire, but with the sound of wings softer than silence.

She sipped only from flowers that opened their hearts, and so she taught the people: joy must be drawn gently, not taken by force.

Though her body was small, her spirit moved faster than worry. She showed us that freedom does not come from distance, but from dancing in place with love.

They call her Tsi-tsi-kwa — “The One Who Drinks from Light,” and when she visits, even grief forgets its name for a moment.
