June is marked as Indigenous History Month, carry the prayers of many generations forward

n Canada, June is marked as Indigenous History Month — but for us, our history has never been something of the past. It lives. It breathes. It walks with us.

This is a time for many to pause and recognize the deep strength, knowledge, and beauty carried by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. But more than that, it’s a time to reflect on shared responsibilities — to truth, to real reconciliation, and to building relationships grounded in respect, not just words.

For us, every month is Indigenous History Month — because our songs, our languages, and our ways continue. And every month, there is work to do. To listen. To learn. To unlearn. To walk together toward a future where justice is not a hope, but a reality.
We are still here. And we carry the prayers of many generations forward.
